An Unprompted Letter

It is my goal as a Realtor to work with integrity. I try to do what I can to make the process easy, even if there's nothing in it for me. I am thankful for the following response that was sent out to a sellers neighborhood last week and I thought I would share it with you. Very humbled and grateful.

"Hello neighbors,

In an email about one month ago, I mentioned that we were fortunate to successfully sell our house 'by owner,' saving the typical seven percent sales commission. As a follow up to that email, I want to clarify that the buyers (Clark and Jo Anne) did retain a realtor, who happened to be Jared Van Cleave with Century 21. When it comes time to sell your house, and if you decide to take the more conventional route and contract with a realtor to assist your sale, I would strongly recommend that you consider Jared.

Most realtors are reticent to work with a 'for sale by owner' situation for a variety of reasons, but Jared demonstrated no reservations whatsoever, and he went out of his way to do all that was necessary to keep the process moving. In a more typical arrangement, we would have had a realtor representing us as the sellers, to cover our side of the process. Jared arranged for us to use the Century 21 staff for this work, and while we did pay them for their services, Jared offered all of his time pro bono for shepherding the process and answering all of my questions. He personifies the refreshing values-based attitude that the primary objective for his work is to provide quality service, first and foremost, and that if he does, the income will follow.

Jared can be reached at 515.460.7777.

Jim Clark"

Thank you Jim for the kind words and thank you readers for the support over the years.
